gravity free djow (デジョー)& 8g(エイジ)による、Live painting Unit. “生きているpaintingこそがLIVEである。LIVE自体が作品である” このコンセプトに基づき、現場の空気感や音の流れを汲み、絵は絶え間なく変化を遂げる。 連続するアブストラクトな幻想的世界観は”無重力”を模索する。年間80本ものgigをこなし ”LIVE”という概念の中で、音楽と共にgravity freeのライブペイントは成長を遂げて来た。音響的なペイントのグルーブ感は、共演したアーティストや多くのオーディエンスの支持を受けて、 FUJI ROCKを始めとする日本の野外フェスティバルや音楽イベントでは欠かせない存在となっている。 様々なアートワークを手がける傍ら、Bandの様なフットワークで 日本全国ライブペイントツアーも行っている。
Gravity Free is a livepainting unit formed by Djow, born in 1976 in Ibaraki, and 8g, born in 1977 in Nagasaki. Conceived around the concept "Live painting is the LIVE, the LIVE is the masterpiece", they transform their style of painting to the groove of live music. The continuous abstract and fantastic vision explored by these artists ensures their world is truly "Gravity Free".They collaborate with musicians, performing up to 80 gigs a year, as the philosophy of live style incorporated music for the essence of "LIVE"Audiences connect with the spirit of "LVIE", and their synthesis of rhythm and color has led to their inclusion at Fuji Rock Festival, one of Japan's largest summer out door event. Besides creating commissioned art for posters and CD covers, among other creation, they embark on a livepainting tour as a band.
2001年 クラブイベント”FREE TRIBE”を皮切りに、関東圏のライブハウスやクラブシーンを中心に活動を開始、展開。 2002年〜2005年 活動の場や音楽のジャンルを問わず、BANDやDJとのセッションライブペイント、 またPANTMIMEやTAP DANCEなど、 様々なアーティストとのコラボレーションを積み重ね、影響しあい、 まるで”BAND”の様な活動を経験する。 壁画／造形物／イベントフライヤー／ポスター／CDなどのアートディレクションへと活動の場所を広げる傍ら、 何百本もの”LIVE”という概念の中で、音楽とともにgravity freeのライブペイントは成長をとげていく。 2006年 音響的なペイントのグルーブ感は、共演したアーティストや多くのオーディエンスの支持を受けて、 活動の場を大型野外フェスティバルへと広げ、2006 FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL (Field of Heaven stage) /2006 SUMMER SONIC/2006 白山虹の祭り2006/ 渚MUSIC FESTIVAL (風STAGE)春/秋 などに出演。 2008年、アメリカ・ツアーを敢行。サンフランシスコのART SHOWや、ポートランドのフェスティバルに出演し、 アーティストホテルとして名高いACE HOTELの一室に壁画を残したことも記憶に新しい。 2009年にはモンタナ州、ミズーラ市のローカルフェスティバルにてパフォーマンスを行い、 ローカル各地で行ったShowでも大絶賛の評価を得ている。 Live paint カルチャーと愛を世に伝えるべく、 gravity freeの壮大なペイントの旅は続く。 2001 After forming, they networked and spread out thought the Kanto Region and performed at live band houses and clubs starting with the club event, "Free Tribe". 2002-2006 Their installation art can incorporate any space and fuse genre of music, such as, band DJs, pantomime artists, and tap dancers, in the livepainting session. In collaboration with a variety of artist, they influence and build off of each other, experiencing a performance like visual band. Besides expanding their art work into the field of paintings, figurative arts (sculptures), event fliers, posters , and CD jackets, "Gravity Free" is progressing their painting concept "LIVE" several hundred times. Present The groove of acoustic paintings collaborating with many artists and their spectators, their field of performance expanded to include large-scale out door events as such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2006 (Field of Heaven Stage), SUMMER SONIC 2006, HAKUSAN NIJI on MATSURI 2006, NAGISA MUSIC FESTIVAL (KAZE Stage) Spring/Fall 2006. 2008 Gravity Free crossed the pacific to San Francisco to bring "LIVE" inspired to the United States, They even performed at Festival in Portland and a mural at "Ace Hotel" well known for artist Hotel in Portland. 2009 Returning to America, they preformed in Missoula, Montana,leaving local residents appreciative of their "LIVE" fusion of art and music. Their livepainting tour sharing their "LIVE" culture and love with the world continues...
